A Course in Miracles originated from the spontaneous collaboration of two individuals dedicated to a shared purpose. These individuals were Helen Schucman and William Thetford, distinguished professors of Medical Psychology at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.
 
True to its title, the Course serves as an educational tool structured to facilitate learning. It comprises three main components: a substantial 669-page Text, a comprehensive 488-page Workbook for Students, and a concise 92-page Manual for Teachers. Students have the freedom to navigate these materials based on their specific preferences and requirements.
 
The Course’s curriculum is meticulously crafted, offering a systematic guide that delves into both theoretical concepts and practical applications. Rather than focusing on abstract theories, it prioritizes real-world application and personal experience over theological discourse. The Course explicitly asserts that while attaining a universal theology may be unattainable, fostering a universal experience is not only achievable but essential (Manual, p.77).
 
Despite its Christian undertones, A Course in Miracles explores overarching spiritual principles that transcend any single faith tradition. It underscores its role as just one rendition of a universal curriculum, acknowledging the diversity of approaches available, all ultimately leading towards a reunification with the divine.
